Requirements
⚠️
This is the guide’s only mandatory section. The other mods in the guide won’t work without first installing these dependencies.
In this section we’ll install Fluffy Mod Manager, the best mod manager for Capcom games. Then we’ll install RE Framework, a powerful modding framework & scripting environment that’s required by most mods. Finally we’ll install a couple of additional dependencies; CatLib and reframework-d2d.
Fluffy Mod Manager
- Download modmanager.zip from the official website.
- Extract the downloaded .zip file to a location of your choice.
- I personally use
C:\Games\Fluffy Mod Manager, but you can put it wherever you like.
- I personally use
- In the extracted folder, run
FluffyModManager.exeto launch the application. - Click Choose game, then select Monster Hunter Wilds from the list.
💡
Fluffy Mod Manager has a YouTube tutorial if you need it.
RE Framework
- In Fluffy Mod Manager, click Downloads and select RE Framework to automatically install the latest version.
CatLib
- Still in Fluffy Mod Manager, click Options and then Open mods folder. This will open the folder
Fluffy Mod Manager\modmanager\Games\MonsterHunterWilds\Mods, where we’ll be placing all the mod archives we’re about to download. - Head to the CatLib page on Nexus mods and navigate to the Files tab.
- Using the Manual Download link, get the latest version of CatLib under “Main Files”.
- Place the downloaded .zip file in your
Modsfolder that we opened just above.
reframework-d2d
- Download the latest reframework-d2d Main File and place the downloaded archive in your Mods folder.
- Yes, it’s okay that this file is hosted on the Monster Hunter Rise section of Nexus Mods. It will also work in MH Wilds.
⚠️
Don’t use the “Mod Manager Download” button on Nexus. It’s for Vortex, a different mod manager that we aren’t using. Always use the Manual Download button.
💡
There is no need to extract mod .zip files. Fluffy Mod Manager will handle that for you.
